Mataram Art Village tour (B/L)

Soon you finish your breakfast, you will be taken on a half-day Lombok City and Handicraft tour. Visit Mayura Water Palace that was built in 1844 and once part of the impressive Karang Asem Kingdom of Bali before stopping at the local markets - a bargain hunter' paradise!

Here you will find lombok pottery, tightly woven baskets and brightly coloured songkets, ikats and sarong cloth. Taman Narada is our next stop, built by King Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Karang Asem in 1727 as a place of worship with beautiful gardens. Its spring water is believed to give dedicated pilgrims eternal youth. Before heading back to your hotel our last stop is at Lingsar Temple, famous as the only Hindu shrine in the world where both Hindus and Moslems come to worship.

Originally built in 1714 the temple symbolises the harmony and unity of the Hindu Balinese and the Moslem Sasak population of the area. The tour ends at the airport or seaport for your onward destination.
