Arriving Yogyakarta (D)
Meeting services upon arrival, you'll be met and directly taken
to your choice of hotel for checking-in and accommodation. Balance
the day is yours. A complimentary welcome dinner served at hotel.
DAY 02
Complimentary: Yogya True Life Village Tour (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Morning is free at leisure to pursue your interest
at your own pace. An afternoon sightseeing tour will take you to
the Southwest of Yogyakarta, where the village of Kasongan is lying.
It is one of the famous home-industry villages, known throughout
Indonesia for its artistic pottery and earthenware. Visits the Kotagede,
a picturesque town, was once the seat of the mighty Mataram Empire.
Since the 1930's Kotagede has become famous as the center of the
Yogya silverware industry. Standing in the heart of Yogyakarta is
the palace court or the Kraton, with its grand and elegant Javanese
architecture. It retains the atmosphere of a bygone era through
the installations of life-size wedding and palace meeting dioramas,
traditional Javanese gamelan orchestra, antiques and heirlooms that
adorn the royal buildings. Just west of the Kraton, are the ruins,
pools, arches and underground passages of the former pleasure gardens,
the Water Castle. A number of batik workshops line the avenue leading
to the pleasure garden's entrance. Late in the afternoon, we'll
drop you at the Yogya famous rendezvous centre, the Jalan Malioboro.
It is the vibrant life of the city and a nice place to hangout in
the evening. The incredible array of goods and the fair prices draw
in the teeming thousands of people who seek bargains or just come
to see, to compare, to be part of the swirling current of people,
noise, color and atmosphere. This street is packed with an intense
life, but that's just what makes scenes interesting for a kaleidoscopic
view of the city. Early evening get back at hotel.
DAY 03
Departing Yogya (B)
Morning is free. In time of departure, you'll be transferred to
the airport for your onward flight to the next destination.
