DAY 01
Arriving Medan - Parapat
Meets and greets upon arrival in Medan airport, and you'll be directly
escorted to Parapat, a popular tourist resort, lies on the shore
of the famous Lake Toba. Its cool and dry mountain climate makes
it the perfect place to relax where Batak Toba and Batak Simalungun
tribes are lives. They are known for their lively and sentimental
love songs. During your free time in Parapat, you may enjoy available
recreational sports at your own. Among of them are swimming, water
skiing, motor boating, canoeing, fishing. Golf is at Sally Golf
Course (19 holes), about 5 km from Parapat. (L/D)
DAY 02
Parapat - Lake Toba Tour
This morning you'll be taken on boat touring to the island of Samosir,
located right in the middle of Lake Toba, covering an area of 329
square miles. This island is the original home of the fiercest but
kind hearted Toba Bataks. You'll visit the villages of Tomok, Tuktuk,
Ambarita and Simanindo to witness their daily live, the megalithic
site as well as their traditional houses, and local dances. (B/L/D)
DAY 03
Parapat - Berastagi - Medan
After breakfast in the morning, leave Parapat by road to Medan.
As you drive north from Parapat into Medan, you will passing by
the Karo highland. The Great Bukit Barisan Forest Park greets you
with its distinctive Karonese gazebo decorated with ret-ret, a two-headed,
lizard-like animal that is carved on the walls of traditional Karonese
family houses. Along the windy, mountainous road to the Karo highland,
as you pass the Sibolangit National Garden, chants of monkeys and
possibly orang-utans will accompany you, mysteriously appearing
and disappearing from the thick jungle. The town of Berastagi, located
at the foot of Mount Sibayak, will greet you with its lovely flowers.
The smell of fresh vegetables and the colorful and aromatic arrangements
of fruit will etch their place in your memory. Further south from
Berastagi and Kabanjahe, the Karonese portion of Lake Toba is marked
with a thin yet tall waterfall called Sipiso piso. Later in the
afternoon arrive at Medan and check-in to your hotel. (B/L/D)
DAY 04
Departing Medan
In the morning, before leaving Medan, you still have chance to enjoy
short city sightseeing. Medan, the capital of the province of North
Sumatera, houses the government offices and business centers, effectively
making it the largest city outside of the island of Java. Medan
owes its cultural heritage to the kingdom of Deli, whose place of
worship, Mesjid Agung (Grand Mosque), and palace, Istana Maimun
(The Maimun Palace) undoubtedly show its past greatness. Your sightseeing
tour completes and ends at the Medan airport for your onward flight
to the next destination. (B)
